Due to the impact of the Covid pandemic, the opening ceremony took place online through the Zoom platform but still brought the students a solemn and intimate atmosphere, marking the beginning of a new subject - Japanese subject.

Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of CLEF, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Minh Thuy - Director, Ms. Nguyen To Nhu - Head of Cooperation and Development Department, Ms. Tran Thi Duong - Head of Training and Fostering Department, Ms. Pham Thi Huong - Head of Administration - Finance - Human Resources Department, and Japanese language teachers and staff of the Institute. On the side of Hong Duc School, there were Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hai - President of the School Council; honored teacher Nguyen Van Tuynh - Principal of the school, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Assistant Chairman of the School Council, principle teachers and 38 students in the 10th grade Japanese class this year. In particular, two students, Vu Van Tu and Nguyen Thanh Long, two 11th grade Japanese students, also joined to welcome the new students.
Opening the program, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Minh Thuy - Director of CLEF Institute gave a speech about the position of Japanese in Vietnam as well as opportunities when students choose Japanese to master. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Ngo Minh Thuy also shared the Institute's projects and cooperation opportunities with Japanese agencies in order to develop Japanese language at high schools in Vietnam in the future.
Next, the teacher, Nguyen Van Tuynh - the school's principal continued the program with his speech in which, he showed his expectation as well as of the school's leadership in the expansion of a new foreign language subject that will give the school's students more career opportunities after graduation.The school’s teachers will create the best conditions for students to study, even in the affected conditions of the COVID pandemic.
In order for students to better understand about CLEF Institute - the unit affiliated with Hong Duc School organizing Japanese classes for Hong Duc’s students, Ms. Nguyen To Nhu - Head of Cooperation and Development Department gave an introduction about CLEF Institute and its activities.
On behalf of the teachers of the CLEF, Ms. Phung Thi Trinh introduced the students about the Japanese language course and the study plan for this year. Ms. Trinh shared: “In the classroom, we, teachers, are just instructors who will help you, students, overcome difficulties when learning Japanese which we ourselves used to encounter, even we have been working with Japanese for twenty years. I hope you will be better than me, and will be the pride of not only Hung Yen province but also of Vietnam in the future."
At the end of the program, Le Van Tu – representing for the whole Japanese 11th grade students, expressed his feelings about his Japanese studying during the past year. He said that he, like many other his friends, started taking Japanese classes for curiosity and seeing the benefits for his future career when learning another foreign language. However, the more he learns, the more he likes Japanese and the culture of Japan and its people. Now, he can freely say hello and some basic sentences in Japanese.
Right after the opening program, the students stayed to attend the first lesson. Although most of the students had just encountered Japanese for the first time, the lesson was really exciting with the fresh and lively teaching method of the teachers and the active participation of the students. Hopefully this will be a successful school year for both teachers and students of Japanese 10th grade.
