CLEF Marks 5 Years of Growth in Culture, Language, and Education

On July 9, 2025, Interdisciplinary Institute for Culture, Language and Education Fostering. (CLEF) held a gathering to celebrate its 5th anniversary. This event served not only as a moment to reflect on the Institute’s formation and growth, but also as an expression of heartfelt gratitude to the partners, experts, and academic community who have continuously supported and accompanied CLEF throughout its journey.

In a warm and respectful atmosphere, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Minh Thuy, Institute’s Director, delivered a speech summarizing CLEF’s achievements and extended sincere thanks to the individuals and organizations who have contributed to the Institute’s steady progress.
In five years, CLEF has organized six academic conferences, including two international ones, thereby advancing in-depth research in the fields of language, culture, and education, while providing a scientific foundation for policy-making. Notably, the Institute co-hosted the first-ever national forum for high school Japanese language teachers—a pioneering and widely connected professional event.
In the field of publishing and translation, CLEF has participated in compiling and publishing scholarly monographs, and has organized bilingual literary and folk song translation projects between Vietnamese and Japanese. These initiatives have promoted cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two nations. The Institute has played a vital role in the development of Japanese language textbooks. This effort was carried out in close collaboration with Japan Foundation, Vietnam Education Publishing House, and Hanoi Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (HEID), focusing on teacher training and the creation of standardized learning materials.
With a vision of fostering two-way cultural development, CLEF has successfully organized various international cultural exchange activities. Notable among them were the Vietnam–Japan Folk Song Festivals in 2023 and 2024. These events not only contributed to preserving and promoting national cultural heritage, but also helped expand Vietnam’s cultural presence globally. In addition, CLEF has actively supported student entrepreneurship, hosted book introduction events, academic forums, and implemented meaningful educational cooperation programs.
Following the director’s remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Tu Lap, Chair of CLEF Scientific Council, delivered a heartfelt message. He emphasized that CLEF, driven by a commitment to knowledge and a spirit of community engagement, has gradually become a gathering place for researchers, lecturers, experts, and educators from both Vietnam and abroad. He expressed strong belief that the institute will continue its path of sustainable growth, deepening its research endeavors while remaining a place that nurtures creativity, humanism, and multidimensional academic dialogue.

Representatives of CLEF respectfully presented letters of appreciation and commemorative gifts to partner organizations, as a sincere gesture of gratitude for their trust and valuable support. The event concluded in a warm and artistic atmosphere, with cultural music performances - an emblematic feature of CLEF’s activities over the years.
Reflecting on its five-year journey, CLEF cherishes the values it has cultivated, while promoting the preservation and dissemination of culture and language in an increasingly globalized world. The Institute extends its heartfelt appreciation to government agencies, partner organizations, researchers, lecturers, collaborators, and all those who have placed their trust in CLEF and supported its foundational efforts - laying the groundwork for continued exploration in academia, creativity, and humanistic values.

Đặc biệt, phát biểu tại buổi gặp mặt, các vị khách mời đã chia sẻ những cảm nhận chân thành và sâu sắc về hành trình phát triển của Viện CLEF. TS. Phạm Vĩnh Thái – Ủy viên Hội đồng thành viên, Tổng Biên tập Nhà xuất bản Giáo dục Việt Nam – đánh giá cao vai trò của Viện trong việc thúc đẩy quá trình biên soạn sách giáo khoa tiếng Nhật tại Việt Nam, đồng thời bày tỏ mong muốn tiếp tục phối hợp chặt chẽ trong các dự án giáo dục. TS. Lê Công Lương – Phó Tổng Thư ký, kiêm Trưởng Ban Khoa học và Hợp tác quốc tế, Liên hiệp các Hội Khoa học và Kỹ thuật Việt Nam – ghi nhận những đóng góp học thuật thiết thực của Viện và khẳng định đây là một tổ chức có năng lực chuyên môn và tinh thần đổi mới rõ nét. Ông Imagawa Muneki – Trưởng Ban Giáo dục tiếng Nhật, Quỹ Giao lưu Quốc tế Nhật Bản – đánh giá cao sự hợp tác hiệu quả giữa Viện và Japan Foundation trong các hoạt động đào tạo giáo viên và phát triển giáo trình tiếng Nhật, coi đây là mô hình hợp tác mẫu mực giữa hai bên. Ông Phạm Hưng Long – đại diện nhóm tác giả sách giáo khoa tiếng Nhật – bày tỏ sự trân trọng với vai trò điều phối và kết nối của Viện trong quá trình biên soạn sách, đặc biệt trong việc gắn kết đội ngũ chuyên gia và giáo viên trên cả nước. Nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Lê Tâm – đại diện nhóm nhạc sĩ M6 – chia sẻ về những trải nghiệm nghệ thuật đầy cảm hứng trong các chương trình giao lưu văn hóa mà Viện tổ chức, và khẳng định âm nhạc chính là cầu nối tuyệt vời giữa tri thức và cộng đồng.





 
Đại diện Viện CLEF đã trân trọng trao thư cảm ơn và quà lưu niệm tới các đối tác – như một lời tri ân chân thành cho sự tin tưởng và hỗ trợ quý báu mà Viện luôn nhận được. Chương trình kết thúc trong không khí ấm áp và nghệ thuật, với những tiết mục giao lưu âm nhạc mang đậm dấu ấn văn hóa – một nét đặc trưng trong các hoạt động của Viện từ trước đến nay.
Nhìn lại chặng đường 5 năm, Viện CLEF trân trọng những giá trị đã tạo dựng, và sẽ tiếp tục vững bước với sứ mệnh thúc đẩy tri thức, gìn giữ và lan tỏa văn hóa, ngôn ngữ trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa. Viện xin gửi lời cảm ơn sâu sắc tới các cơ quan quản lý, các tổ chức đối tác, các nhà nghiên cứu, giảng viên, cộng sự và những người đã tin tưởng, hỗ trợ và cùng Viện đi qua những chặng đường quan trọng đầu tiên – để tiếp tục cùng nhau mở rộng những chân trời mới của học thuật, sáng tạo và nhân văn.

On December 13, 2025, immediately following the academic workshop “Teaching and Learning Japanese in a Multilingual Environment: Current Situations and Development Directions in Vietnam,” CLEF Institute, in collaboration with the University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, successfully held the Final Round and Award Ceremony of the Japanese Singing Contest for Students at Vũ Đình Liên Hall. The event created a vibrant and emotionally rich artistic space, bringing together young voices passionate about the Japanese language from various educational institutions across the country.
