CLEF organizes Japanese culture lesson for students at Nguyen Binh Khiem Middle & High School

On the morning of Saturday, February 22, 2025, CLEF, in partnership with Nguyen Binh Khiem School, hosted a captivating Japanese culture lesson for members of the Japanese Club.

The lesson was conducted from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m, incorporating a diverse array of engaging activities designed to enhance cultural understanding. The opening session included an interactive exchange with 20 questions about Japan, covering topics such as the national flower, traditional costumes, and famous dishes. Students participated enthusiastically, answering thoughtfully and receiving attractive gifts for their involvement.

 
Following this was the Kendama game, a traditional activity that demands both dexterity and patience. Students faced dramatic challenges as they competed for victory, showcasing their skills and determination.
 

 
Thereafter, the students engaged in Fukuwarai, a traditional Japanese face-matching game often enjoyed during Tet. They shared hearty laughter as they collaborated to create funny and imaginative faces.

A highlight of the lesson was the unison singing performance. Each class showcased a Japanese song, including "Sakura," a famous piece that embodies the spirit and beauty of Japan.
 

 
Ultimately, the Yukata-wearing contest brought the class to a vibrant close. Students from classes JP1 and JP2 showcased traditional Japanese costumes, receiving scores from their teachers. The ElegantYukata outfits allowed the children to gain a deeper understanding of the customs and culture associated with wearing traditional Japanese clothing.
This lesson on Japanese culture served not only as a platform for students to explore the culture more deeply but also as a means to enhance their communication skills and teamwork. It instilled a love for the Japanese language among them. Thanks to the organizers' careful preparation, the lesson created unforgettable memories and inspired students in their quest to master Japanese.
CLEF believes that engaging in valuable extracurricular activities such as these will enhance students' motivation and interest in learning foreign languages. Additionally, these activities provide opportunities for students to connect with the cultures of other countries in a more intuitive and vivid manner.
