Official Announcement: Rules and Guidelines for the French Singing Contest for Students

1. Introduction
The French Singing Contest for Students is organized by the Interdisciplinary Institute for Culture, Language, and Education Fostering (CLEF) in collaboration with the Faculty of French Language and Culture at VNU University of Languages and International Studies.

This contest is supported by various universities, research institutes, and educational agencies across Vietnam, with partial sponsorship from the Francophone Center for Asia-Pacific (CREFAP).
The primary objective of the event is to promote the French language and culture through music while enhancing understanding of the Francophone community.
The contest will take place from March 1, 2025, to April 26, 2025, culminating in a performance and awards ceremony on April 26, 2025.
2. Participants
The contest is open to students who are currently studying French or have an interest in the language, culture, and music of Francophone countries.

3. Timeline for entries and awards

- Entry Submission Period: March 1, 2025, to April 10, 2025 (Thursday)
- Announcement of Finalists: April 17, 2025 (Thursday) – 15 finalists will be revealed.
- Performance and Awards Ceremony: April 26, 2025.
4. Requirements for entries
- Contestants must submit a video performance of a French song to the Organizing Committee.
- Videos should have clear audio and visual quality.
- Each contestant may register to perform only one song, either as a solo or duet. Prizes will be awarded based on the performance.
- Contestants are responsible for their own musical accompaniment.
- Contestants grant permission for the organizers to use their images, audio, and video recordings for promotional purposes.
5. Prize structure
The contest features the following prize structure:

First Prize: 3,000,000 VND
Second Prize: 2,000,000 VND
Third Prize: 1,000,000 VND
Fourth Prizes: 12 prizes worth 500,000 VND each
Most Favorite Song Award: Voted by the audience, worth 2,000,000 VND

All prizes are awarded in cash along with Certificates. Additionally, participants will receive rewards and gifts from CLEF.
6. Judging process and criteria
The competition consists of two rounds:
*Preliminary round:
- The jury will score and select the 15 best performances to advance to the final round.
*Final round:
- Performances will be conducted live on stage.
- The jury will score and award prizes to the top performances according to the above prize structure.
* The most favorite song award is determined by audience voting (like, comment, share), which will take place from April 17, 2025, to 12:00 PM on April 25, 2025. The scoring will be based on engagement as follows:
1 like = 1 point
1 comment = 2 points
1 share = 3 points

*Contest entries will be assessed objectively and fairly by experts in music, culture, and language based on the following criteria:
(1) Voice quality and vocal technique
(2) French pronunciation
(3) Performance skills

Contestants are required to submit their contest videos to the Organizing Committee via email at info@clef.vn before 24:00 on April 10, 2025.
