Continuing the series of activities in the joint program of Japanese language teaching with schools, on January 23, 2021, at Nguyen Binh Khiem School (Hanoi), The Interdisciplinary Institute for Culture, Language and Education Fostering (CLEF) cooperated with Nguyen Binh Khiem High School to organize a Japanese cultural exchange day for students of foreign language class 2 – Japanese at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School. This is one of the cultural experience activities to introduce Japanese culture to the school's students.
Attending the exchange, from the school side were Mr. Dam Tien Nam - Principal of Nguyen Binh Khiem Middle & High School, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Trang - Secretary of the Board of Directors, other members of BoD and teachers in charge of Japanese at Nguyen Binh Khiem Middle & High School and nearly 60 students participating in the course.
On the side of CLEF Institute, there were the attendance of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Minh Thuy - Chairman of the Institute's Management Board, Director of CLEF, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Head of General Administration Department, Ms. Nguyen To Nhu - Deputy Head of Cooperation and Development Department, Ms. Tran Thi Duong - Head of Training and Fostering Department with the Institute's teachers who directly involved in teaching work.
Besides, the exchange also had the presence of Ms. Morichika Mina - Center for Japanese Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, Japan Foundation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan; Ngo Huy Duc, Ngo Huy Vu and Nguyen Lan Vy, Nguyen Minh Huyen - Vietnamese students currently studying in Japan.
At the beginning of the program, Mr. Dam Tien Nam shared the first results of the 2nd language program - Japanese. After the first semester of teaching Japanese to students in grades 6 and 10, the program has initially built an interest and passion for Japanese, and basic knowledge such as the hiragana alphabet. , common greetings… for students.
Following the program, all students of Japanese class had a chorus performance of the song上を向いて歩こうshowing the initial results of learning Japanese at school.
At the exchange, the children also learnt more about Japanese culture, country and music through lively and attractive videos. Not only that, the children also enjoyed Japanese-Vietnamese cultural performances such as yosakoi performance from UlisYo group, Koibito song performed by Ms. Giang Thanh Nha, etc. A special feature of the program was the introduction of Japanese cuisine from grade 10 T4 and an introduction of Japanese fashion from grade 10 T7. These performances made a strong impression on not only the students but also the teachers and guests attending the program.
The spotlight of the program that made the children most excited was participating in the game " Quiz with prizes” through which they learnt a lot of new knowledge about Japanese culture, country and people. 20 gifts were given to 20 students with the fastest and most accurate answers.
The exchange took place in a very lively and exciting atmosphere from the students as well as the guests attending. The students all expressed their joyment and excitement to discover more of the beauties of Japan.
The Japanese cultural exchange activity is a special gift from CLEF Institute and Nguyen Binh Khiem School to students before the New Year 2021. In the coming time, the Institute will continue to organize such cultural activities to equip children with knowledge about the country and people of Japan as well as toinspire and interest in Japanese culture and language.
